/ ABOUT

Mjutant is where multiple scenes collide. Genres that don’t obviously belong together meet on shared ground — not through trends, but through the people who live in the margins of sound. It is a platform that maps and archives releases and news from various genres, ranging from darkjazz, IDM, breakcore, jungle, ambient electronic, sludge, post-metal, doom, psychedelic rock, noise, mathcore, krautrock, hardcore punk, black metal, grindcore, drone metal, experimental and avant-garde — to anything else that pushes at the edges.

Just like John Peel, who was never interested in trends or the mainstream but in new, strange, and honest music, the same principle applies here.

The Mjutant concept is open — you can submit news, and if we feel it fits the concept, it will be published. There is also an option to become part of the Mjutant crew and have your own profile from which news can be published. Get in touch.

The name Mjutant is inspired by Mutations, an EP by The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, the Mutant Sniper releases on Peace Off Records, and Venetian Snares on repeat for years.
